Rita Angus Exhibition

The free summer exhibition at Te Papa Rita Angus that opened on Saturday18 December and runs until 25 April 2022 has more than 70 works by one of New Zealand’s best-known artists. Walking around the exhibition I was amazed to find a Cornish connection. A water colour called “The Seamen’s Chapel, St Ives" painted in 1959. The painting is on loan from the Christchurch Art Gallery.

Once the exhibition closes in April, a scaled-down version will tour a number of regional galleries around the country.
